FAQs – Out of the Cage: The Journey of Forgiveness. NOTE: it may be helpful to watch/listen to our earlier episodes on forgiveness – what it is and what it is not. This may give useful context to these FAQs!

Here are a few of the questions we get:

1.  How do I know I forgiven the one who offended me?

  • Here is a clue: Where is most of the focus of attention when the offense comes to mind – the offense or the forgiveness?
  • Another clue: am in in a posture of brokenness and humility or a posture of arrogance and pride?
  • And yet another clue: Your question indicates that you are moving toward forgiveness – you are on the right path!!!

2.  How long does forgiveness take?

  • It may be worth asking ourselves if there may be another question behind this?
  • Practically: Daily – Hourly – Minute-by-minute
    • 2 Corinthians 10:5 – Take your thoughts captive and bring them to the choice you have made to forgive.
    • Speak truth over the lies and deception. (Affirmations are a key!)
